Central Utah Correctional Facility is a UDC state prison in Gunnison, Sanpete County. It is not a Wasatch County jail. Wasatch Cases in CUCF

A Wasatch County origin remains useful for finding the court case, but it does not make the person a county inmate after a UDC sentence. Utah’s Fourth District Court record can show the judgment, commitment, sentence terms, and credit for prior confinement. Those records explain how state custody began. The Board and UDC then control the public trail for prison placement, parole authority, and community supervision.

The distinction matters when a county jail record says “released” to UDC. That entry marks the end of Wasatch County’s physical custody and the start or continuation of state custody.
